Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion
is quickly becoming one of the most
sought after cosmetic dermatology procedures available. The
treatment is appealing to so many men and women because it is
quick, minimally invasive, and highly effective for reducing
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and for evening out
skin tone and imperfections. The procedure requires no
special preparations or recovery, and patients can return to
their normal routine directly after leaving our
facility. Microdermabrasion usually produces the best
results when done in a series of treatments and may be the
perfect solution for people who aren't willing to put forth
the time, expense, and longer healing time sometimes
associated with other skin resurfacing treatments. It is a
quick and easy fix that produces effective results for men and
women of all ages and lifestyles. Microdermabrasion can be
used to correct rough skin, uneven pigmentation and some fine
lines and wrinkles.
For the best results a series of
peels is performed. Microdermabrasion is repeated every 7 to
10 days.
Microdermabrasion is a quick
non-invasive procedure used to resurface the skin. This
procedure gently removes the top layers of skin with tiny
crystals. The technique exfoliates and resurfaces the skin,
promoting the formation of smoother and clearer
skin. During a microdermabrasion treatment, the technician
will use a tool that passes a fine mist of aluminum dioxide
crystals over the skin's surface and then vacumes the crystals
away along with the skin debris. The intensity of the
treatment is highly focused and controlled. The
microdermabrasion tool can be used to achieve a light buffing
effect for treating surface imperfections or to achieve a
deeper level of exfoliation for treating deeper imperfections
when needed. The mist of crystals gently and evenly removes
the top layers of skin to reveal a fresh new layer of
cells.
Microdermabrasion gently
"sandblasts" away fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun
damaged skin and age spots. The procedure has been
successfully used in Europe for more than a decade and is
quickly gaining popularity in the U.S. It is minimally
invasive and requires no anesthesia and no real recovery
time.
Immediately after a microdermabrasion treatment
patients will notice an improvement in the smoothness and
texture of their skin. The appearance of age spots, freckles,
fine lines and wrinkles will be reduced, and acne scars will
be less noticeable.
One of the best things about
microdermabrasion treatments is that there is very little
recovery time. Many patients only experience a minimal amount
of redness and/or dryness in their skin for about a day after
the procedure.
Your may be recommend a specific moisturizer
to use after the treatment. It is important to remember that
your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun after
microdermabrasion, and you will need to be extra diligent when
applying sunscreen.
What is
Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a
medical technique for removing the topmost layer of skin
leaving it supple and vibrant. The wand removes this layer of
skin by gently abrading the skin with natural diamond chips
and/or organic grains
while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a
sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of
skin leaves a smoother texture and promotes new cell
growth.

Crystals Organic Grain or Both
About the Organic Grains:
The organic grains are made from Lignin and Cellulose.
Lignin's:
Are derived from an abundant and renewable resource,
trees - plants and agricultural crops. Lignin's are
classified by the EPA / FDA as non-toxic and are extremely
versatile in performance qualities that have made them
increasingly important in many applications. Lignin's have
unique chemical properties and may play a prominent role in
reducing cancer. The lignin content of flaxseed is up to 800
times greater than that of other plant foods such as legumes
- vegetables and cereal grains.
Cellulose:
(Wood Pulp) is prepared from wood by a process of
dissolving and chemical softening. The pulp is produced from
pine - fir and beech wood, and also from other cellulose
containing vegetable matter such as sugar cane waste - straw
- reeds - maize and sunflower stalks.
The skin care industry is continuing to recognize the
therapeutic properties of both cellulose and lignin, and, as
a result, more and more products and treatments are
incorporating.
